Caleb, as a general rule of thumb, does not like loud noises.
He especially does not like loud flushing toilets in public restrooms.
Typically, he'll have to look at several when you take him into the restroom so he can choose the one that looks like it will flush the quietest.
If he knows/thinks it's going to be really loud and is an automatic flush, he will stand to pee with his hands covering his ears. This is quite a site to see, and doesn't help the aim.
He especially hates automatic flushing toilets.
When they flush before he's ready, I usually have to remind him to pull his pants up before he exits the stall.
I don't want to be the mom in the restroom with the 4 yo boys running around with his pee pee hanging out.
I'm sure many people have heard me talking him through peeing in public; hopefully some of them were moms themselves and understood, for the rest of you, hopefully it was good for a giggle or two for you.
