This Life I Live
Finished reading this last night. It didn't flow throughout like a long story, but mini chapter essays that did weave together into their bigger story, which is how he described his life, so I guess it makes sense.
I did enjoy reading the story and even made me thing about faith in some ways.
Surprisingly I didn't cry a ton through it. I supposed in part because I already knew of their story and what to expect, but It was a good quick read.

Cake Decorating Contest
Over the weekend the boys had a Cub Scout Banquet that included a cake decorating contest. The night before I baked them each a round cake and I put white frosting on it for them to decorate the next morning at their request. They each had some ideas and they each knew how they were going to incorporate beef jerky into their cake decorations. The jerky was a requirement for their cakes and they had to have a cub scouting theme.
Caden decorated his with a bow and arrow.
Caleb decorated his with a campfire.
I think they looked awesome!

November Thankfulness - Installment 4
I'm back again for another installment.
Day 7:
I'm thankful for a reliable car to get me where I need to be and in comfort too. I used to drive everywhere; then I met Keith, and he started doing all the driving, well most of it anyway. When I went back to school it was a bit of an adjustment driving 30 miles one way to school nearly twice a week, so with that commute, plus all my other errands around town, I'm thankful for a reliable car with a working radio and comfort amenities. Bonus thankful, it's fully paid for.
Day 8:
Vacation days, because let's face it, working full time, isn't always the most fun all the time. They are sanity savers, especially when spent with darling little boys.
Day 9:
I'm thankful for pie. More specifically my ability to bake pie, don't get me wrong, I love to eat pie too. I find something soothing about baking. It's great stress relief. Four pies last night, made me feel satisfied.
Day 10:
Today, I'm thankful for music. I drove home from school tonight with the radio loud. I sang along loudly, and that made me happy.

I baked a pie!
With the help of my two little boys, we baked a strawberry rhubarb pie!
I'm pretty happy with the way it looks!
Hubs and kids tasted the pie tonight. No one really liked it. Hubs said it was alright. Kids refused to eat it.
I do have some happy co-workers today though!
