Week 30 Day 3

I had a realization this morning why I'm so cranky every morning.

I wake up irritated that my sleep is changing again.

Once I get comfortable in bed at night, sleep isn't too hard to come by.  Usually that's because it is later than it should be.  Although, I have been trying to get to bed earlier.  Things go really well usually until somewhere around 3 or 4 in the morning.

Then the tossing and turning starts.

Generally I think I awake because I need to pee, of course.  Sometimes I do it right away, and sometimes I have to talk myself into getting up to go.

Once I go the bathroom, I can't seem to fall back asleep into the same restfulness.  As I usually spend the rest of the early morning tossing and turning, which leads me waking up cranky as I haven't slept well for the bast couple hours.

At least now I'm aware and can start to change my attitude about it, because I doubt the sleeping situation is going to improve anytime soon!

Week 30 Day 1

I've been tired lately.  Luckily I'm comfortable with where we are on our to do list, and I'm slowly checking off the smaller things.

I'm looking forward to the baby shower in about 2.5 weeks.

We attended out child birthing class this past weekend.  It was a long day, 9-4, but we're both glad we went and are feeling comfortable with our hospital.

We're talking more about what we'd like to see happen, and we're hoping for a natural childbirth, but leaving our options open.  We'll see what happens!

I can't believe how far along we are, and how close it's getting!

The boys comment more and more often about "my baby getting big."  I hope they keep their excitement about it for awhile!

Week 30 Day 1 - Expectations

I've noticed in the last week or so my mood has changed.  I've been very irritable, and I'm sure Keith would agree.  My tolerance for things that do not meet my expectations is slim to none lately.  Just ask my husband who hung a hook on the bathroom door upside down last night.

I know my patients with the boys has been short lately too.  Which frustrates me, because I want to be better than that, which really just irritates me more then, because I'm not meeting my own expectations of myself.

I've always been one for high expectations, but motherhood has certainly taught me to adjust those expectations; here's to hoping this is just a temporary relapse!

Prenatal Appointment #6 - Week 30

I think this was our 6th regularly scheduled appointment; although I'm not certain.  Looking back it looks like I missed posting about #5 in March.

Today went well.  The heart beat was 151 and I measuring on track.

Now we're down to appointments every two weeks!

It's gone so fast!

Assumptions

I recently wrote about a dreaded question that has occurred during my pregnancy.

Well, there's another side to that too.

For those people who know me a bit better, they know we have twin boys.

This leads people commonly assume this is my second pregnancy.

And again I feel awkward.

Well, actually, they are my step-sons.  And then, I'm back to the "step" work which I detest so much!

Worms

Caden's fascination with animals continues, this time into the insect category.

This week when we've picked him up from the babysitters, he's been bringing home a cup with worms in it.

The first night we insisted the worms "sleep" in the garage.

The next night when we picked him up there was a sealed plastic cup of worms that were "napping."

We didn't tell him they weren't alive anymore; he was so excited about his worms!  But if this continues, we may have to explore that further.

Handitizer

Last night we meet the boys mom and half siblings for dinner and some play time at the park.  As is expected, everyone had to visit the bathroom at some point, which is unfortunate as the only restroom is a port-a-potty.

Caleb was the first to go, and he came back asking everyone to smell his "handitizer."

You know, hand sanitizer.

We didn't correct him.  It was too cute.
