The sermon this past week was about spiritual gifts, grace, and happiness. The scripture reading was from Exodus 17:1-7.
In the sermon she expanded the title to not just include grumbling, but judging, whining, etc. Spiritual gifts do include teaching, preaching, prophecy and administration.
Our memories fail us. They were wondering and complaining through the desert and reminiscing about how good they had things in Egypt. We tend to remember the good and forget the bad. We are just as whiney today. Life still isn't perfect. Our forgetfulness leads to anxiety and leads us away from faithfulness.
We focus on what we don't have, instead of what we do have.
Faith is trusting without proof.
Even our complaining is listened to by God, and He always returns it with GRACE. Grace is getting what we don't deserve. We can't earn it. We get it anyway. Let us remember how great is our God's GRACE.
Happiness is wanting what you have and being content.
Count your blessings; it is a cure for
