Dear Caden & Guy,
I hope you know how much your sister looks up to you. She lights up when you've been away and come around again. I think she misses you when you're gone. She always wants to tell you goodnight and are one of the first people she asks for in the mornings when she wakes up. She wants to play with you and be with you around the house. She's watching you and learning from you. I pray you teach her well, not only now, but many years into the future.
She'll join you both in time out if for some reason you're there. She wants to eat her meals with you, and if you are both done at the table, well then she is too, wether she's ate any food or not! She loves you unconditionally, and I can see that you both lover her the same way. Everynight before bed as you boys say your individual prayers, there is rarely a night when both of you don't thank God for your little sister.
I love watching the three of you develop this awesome sibling bond, and I can't wait to see you all join in with your nexest little sibling late this year!
With love,
Mom

Pee Pee in the Potty!
Tuesday nights this summer, I have class. My last semester of graduate school classes! Anyway, this Tuesday, we were just getting ready to start class when I received a text from Keith that said:
"Elinor went pee pee in her potty!!!"
And I was so excited for her! And so sad I wasn't home.
Elinore's been talking about the potty for a month or more now. She knows what it's for and for a long time she'd sit on it, but only with her diaper on. We haven't pushed her or anything, but just let it sit in the bathroom for her to see. We talk about it with her too, but haven't pushed her to do anything. She still isn't quite two yet! But as she asks, we oblige!
Apparently Keith went to chage her diaper and she asked to go potty. She walked him over there and made him take her diaper off and she peed in the potty!
When I got home that night Keith told me about it, and told me that not only did it happen once, before bed, she did it again, and the diaper was dry.
The next morning for me she went in the potty a tiny amount, but we celebrated anyway!
Another night this week, she wanted to go potty, so we got naked and went to the bathroom, where she peed on the bath rug. Apparently, I didn't know that when she sits on the potty to pee, you have to sit on the potty too. Now I know!
I know it's early, and we're not pushing her, but it is exciting to her her learning it all on her own and taking interest in it.

Nicknames
I think Elinore has coined a new nickname for Caleb. She calls him Guy or Guys. Caden she says very clearly and plainly, no problems, but Caleb, well, he's Guys. It's taken us awhile to realize than when she says Guys she's really just referring to Caleb and not both of them! At first, Caleb wasn't too happy about it, but now he smiles and goes along with it. Keith and I are starting to call him Guys along with her some just for fun. :)

I'm ready to be done with grad school.
This is my view for the afternoon: two sleeping pets, a school binder and a technical statistical report to write. One of the boys is playing a video game, one is napping and the girl is napping too. Keith is off with his brother.
I am grateful for the opportunity to complete my work, but old be lying if I said I wasn't counting down until the end of July when I'm done with school! (Hopefully forever!)

EIGHT!
My dear boys turned EIGHT last week. EIGHT!
You were quite excited for your birthday, and as it turned out you had a special day in school for reading class too! Your teacher held a campout day on the Friday or your birthday and you took sleeping bags and flashlights/latnerns to class with you to campout and read! You were so excited that it fell on your birthday. It made your birthday even more special!
Of course you were both also excited about taking treats to class. Caden you didn't care much either way what you were taking. Caleb specifically requested fudge to take, which I planned on doing. However, your little sibling to be and the morning sickness of pregnancy decided I was too tired and nauseous to spend my evening in the kitchen. (So sorry for that kiddo!) Instead you had oatmeal cream pies from the dollar store to share with your classes. And you were both thrilled to have those to take too. Thank you for being so understanding!
We gave you a choice of how you wanted to spend your birthday evening. You decided a family movie night at home was just what you wanted. You spent the time after school though running around with the neighbor girl playing before coming in for family movie night.
Caleb, you wanted pizza and wings for dinner, so daddy order from Pike Station for you. Caden, you wanted boxed Kraft mac and cheese, so you had just that! You all ate while we watched The Goonies. However, it kind of scared you both! Caleb, you stopped watching and went to play with your new birthday present. Caden you stuck it out, but insisted on cuddling on the couch with me to make you okay with watching it! (I didn't mind one bit; I ate up every minute of our rare snuggles. You're too old for them most of the time now!)
Caleb, you received legos for your birthday present. A chariot and horses to your current Castle lego set had you happy as pie! You both received some sea monkey. Caden you received a play doh dentist set.
Grandma Barb came over later that evening to stay the night at our house too, which thrilled you both! She brought presents too of course, a city lego building set, the Frozen DS game, and some handprint molding stones.
You rounded out your birthday weekend with cards and money from Grandma Nancy on Sunday morning. They even sang you to at the luncheon after church on Sunday too! And finally you spend Sunday afternoon at your other moms, where you received more presents!
I hope you had a great weekend celebrating you! We sure did. We love you!
