EIGHT!

My dear boys turned EIGHT last week.  EIGHT!

You were quite excited for your birthday, and as it turned out you had a special day in school for reading class too!  Your teacher held a campout day on the Friday or your birthday and you took sleeping bags and flashlights/latnerns to class with you to campout and read!  You were so excited that it fell on your birthday.  It made your birthday even more special!

Of course you were both also excited about taking treats to class.  Caden you didn't care much either way what you were taking.  Caleb specifically requested fudge to take, which I planned on doing.  However, your little sibling to be and the morning sickness of pregnancy decided I was too tired and nauseous to spend my evening in the kitchen.  (So sorry for that kiddo!)  Instead you had oatmeal cream pies from the dollar store to share with your classes.  And you were both thrilled to have those to take too.  Thank you for being so understanding!

We gave you a choice of how you wanted to spend your birthday evening.  You decided a family movie night at home was just what you wanted.  You spent the time after school though running around with the neighbor girl playing before coming in for family movie night.

Caleb, you wanted pizza and wings for dinner, so daddy order from Pike Station for you.  Caden, you wanted boxed Kraft mac and cheese, so you had just that!  You all ate while we watched The Goonies.  However, it kind of scared you both!  Caleb, you stopped watching and went to play with your new birthday present.  Caden you stuck it out, but insisted on cuddling on the couch with me to make you okay with watching it!  (I didn't mind one bit; I ate up every minute of our rare snuggles.  You're too old for them most of the time now!)

Caleb, you received legos for your birthday present.  A chariot and horses to your current Castle lego set had you happy as pie!  You both received some sea monkey.  Caden you received a play doh dentist set.

Grandma Barb came over later that evening to stay the night at our house too, which thrilled you both!  She brought presents too of course, a city lego building set, the Frozen DS game, and some handprint molding stones.

You rounded out your birthday weekend with cards and money from Grandma Nancy on Sunday morning.  They even sang you to at the luncheon after church on Sunday too!  And finally you spend Sunday afternoon at your other moms, where you received more presents!

I hope you had a great weekend celebrating you!  We sure did. We love you!
